For over three decades, our operations have defined success in the industry. Our corporate and field staff work in tandem to ensure that we are making the best decisions each day, while always striving to be better tomorrow.
Where We Operate
Our operating strategy is designed to enhance a myriad of aspects across the production and expense management of our business. In every field office, Merit is committed to reducing costs, identifying efficiencies, increasing production, operating safely, and reducing emissions. As a result of our strategy to acquire assets where we are the operator, over 90% of our assets are operated enabling us to significantly impact the day-to-day success of our operations.

Operate
Our operations team’s goal is to continually find operational efficiencies in our assets. Our corporate structure eliminates red tape, reducing the lag in the decision timeline. We empower our field staff to make important decisions, embracing a “get out of the truck and fix it” attitude.
Develop
Good today, better tomorrow begins with taking a step back and evaluating projects that can create future value. We deploy a capital budget in each area built to its specific needs, whether it be recompletions, drilling, or cost-reducing measures. We prefer to take several swings, rather than hoping for a grand slam, ensuring that capital is spent appropriately for each commodity environment.
Reduce
Merit is committed to producing oil and natural gas in a way that protects our people, the environment, and the communities in which we live and work. Our disciplined commitment to ESG begins with senior leadership and board oversight and is embraced by our entire team. Through the years, we have been able to realize meaningful reductions in our methane emissions through the use of numerous technologies such as instrument air installations, leak detection and repair (LDAR), aerial surveys, and handheld optical gas imaging cameras.
