Reduce
Throughout our operations, Merit seeks to reduce methane emissions utilizing all feasible technologies including LDAR / OGI and solar where applicable. Merit is committed to our policy of not flaring gas as standard operating procedure. Flaring capabilities are in place for emergencies, safety and pressure relief purposes, or to control emissions only.
Conserve
We are committed to biodiversity, conservations and protecting natural habitats, and adjust operations as appropriate to work around nesting and breeding seasons. In addition, Merit has pioneered a Sulfide Reduction System to aid in our use of water. Through these efforts, we continue to see meaningful emissions reductions while continuing our acquisitions strategy. We aim to continue this trend.
